Restoration On the Farm

Thank you to everyone who came out to Sanford’s Farm on Saturday March 9th, 2013 where together we successfully restored a 625 by 55 foot riparian area along a tributary to the Carbon River in Orting, Washington. With the help of over 110 volunteers we planted 375 native shrubs and trees, reused 1,000 recycled burlap coffee bags, and distributed over 60 cubic yards of mulch all in under 3 hours to enhance the habitat and conservation values of the farm! That is an incredible feat and one that we could not have completed without the help of our incredibly hardworking volunteers and partner organizations including Sanford’s Farm, The Boeing Company, Pierce Conservation District, EarthCorps, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. Be sure to check out other upcoming restoration opportunities On the Farm!
