PCC Farmland Trust partners with landowners and farmers to protect farmland so that it stays in agriculture forever. We seek to conserve farmland that is at least 20 acres or more in size, and that has strong agricultural values, including active water rights and prime agricultural soils.
The Trust also partners with landowners who are not farmers themselves, but would like to find someone to farm their property, and are interested in permanently protecting their property as farmland.

Is a Conservation Easement Right for You?
Whether donating or selling an easement to the Trust, these real estate transactions can be a lengthy process. Donation of an easement is likely take at least one year to complete the process. Purchasing conservation easements can take even longer – typically no less than 18 months, possibly extending up to 3 years, and can be a more complex deal involving grant funds and some outlay of cash by the landowner, including a donation to the Farmland Trust for perpetual stewardship obligations on the property. Typically, donated easement transactions can provide some tax benefit to a landowner as a charitable contribution.
