Accreditation Process

PCC Farmland Trust is a member of the Land Trust Alliance (LTA), a national organization which promotes voluntary private land conservation across the US, and acts as a convener, strategist and representative of more than 1,700 land trusts across America. LTA also offers an accreditation program for land trusts, which recognizes land conservation organizations for meeting national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever.

PCC Farmland Trust is pleased to announce our application for Accreditation with the Land Trust Alliance in 2013. Our Executive Director, Rebecca Sadinsky: “Accreditation with LTA is important to us as it will recognize our organization’s proficiency in the critical work of conserving Washington State’s vital, organic farmlands for future generations. By earning the accreditation seal, the Farmland Trust will be ensuring our commitment to our community, and be honored to join a team of excellent professionals in the national field of land conservation.”

As part of the accreditation process, a public comment period is now open. We would like to invite members of the public to submit input and signed, written comments on our pending application to the Land Trust Alliance Accreditation Commission. The Commission is an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, and is responsible for an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.

Comments provided to the Commission must relate to how PCC Farmland Trust complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust; the full list of standards can be found at
