“CELEBRATE ORGANIC!” Fall Farm Tour: September 17th

New this year, PCC Farmland Trust presents “Celebrate Organic! A Tour of Snoqualmie Valley Farms”

Join us on Saturday, September 17th from 10am to 3pm as we highlight farms in the Snoqualmie Valley that use sustainable and/or organic methods to produce healthy food for their communities. Participating farms will open to the public, offering family-friendly activities, local food, live music, and a chance to see working organic farms in action.

Oxbow Farm will be offering a special kid’s farm tour at 10am and 12pm called SEED FEAST, where kids can harvest and eat seeds grown on the farm (pumpkin and sunflower).  Short, adult-oriented tours will be given at Oxbow at 12;30 and 1:30, and the PCC Kid Picks mobile will be on site throughout the day.  Produce will also be available for purchase.

Over at Growing Things Farm, we’ll be enjoying live music, fresh food, a farmers market stand, educational walking tours and more. Come by at noon for a free Chipotle burrito, and don’t forget to visit the pigs!

And at Local Roots Farm, there is an opportunity to see a family-run farm in action, as they’ll be harvesting for Sunday market.  Watch how produce makes its journey from farm to plate.  There will be a farmer-led tour at 2:00, and Local Roots will also have plenty of fresh-picked veggies for sale, just in time for dinner.

PLEASE NOTE: TRAFFIC ADVISORY! State route 520 & parts of Novelty Hill Road are CLOSED on September 17th. Learn more here.
