We’re so excited to announce a delicious partnership we’ve been brewing with Frankie & Jo’s, a plant-based ice cream shop in Seattle.
Dedicated to sourcing unique, local fruits and vegetables — Autumn Martin and Kari Brunson strive to make ice cream that is pure, intentional, and delicious. It is also vegan and gluten-free. We partnered with them on this month’s seasonal flavor, which features farmer Joel Huesby’s heirloom Dakota black popcorn.
A 5th generation farmer, Joel grows organic wheat, buckwheat, black beans, heirloom popcorn, and more on 399 acres in Walla Walla, Washington, 172 of which have been conserved by PCC Farmland Trust. The Dakota black popcorn is one of Joel’s favorite crops, because it is non-GMO and has an incredibly complex flavor.
If you’re in the Seattle area, be sure to swing by anytime during the month of October to try our delicious collaboration — heirloom black popcorn with a cashew coconut milk base, swirled with a grassy olive oil ribbon and sprinkled with sea salt. It’s like a bowl of your favorite late night snack, in dessert form. If you’re not in Seattle but want to try the flavor, pints can be ordered online and ship nationwide!
